I was lost in a bamboo forest
Once when the moon was full
Going hither and thither
I zipped and zathered
Finding my way noway thru.
It was strange,
Deranging,
Like a Bali Hai bamboo jail.
A maze, amazing mazement
I was nowhere to be hailed
A moment I thought
I saw Jack
Darting hither and too
Then elusive Erin
I thought,
I thought I had seen two.
So if you want to find me
You’ll quite know where I am
Finding myself lost in the
Effete bamboo slam.
