“A quilt for the retiring colonel from mom”
Quilts so lovingly stitched
at the quilter’s hand
Bear stored up curative
Medicinality
That when
Chuddled within
The chuddler reaps
Again and again

Author’s Note: Chuddled. An obscure Appalachian term for being wrapped up in, enveloped by, cozy/comfy, swaddled snug inside a handmade quilt, which releases medicinal qualities to the chuddled person direct from the quilter’s heart and hand. Otherwise known as poetic license 😎
